Human trafficking is a serious crime and a grave violation of human rights. Every year, millions of men, women and children fall into the hands of traffickers. Human trafficking is a development issue, poverty, gender inequality, unemployment, a lack of education, weak rule of law, and poor governance accompanied by socio-economic factors are strongly linked to human trafficking.
