TOPIC A: European Border and Coast Guard Regulation

The Greens appreciate the significance of a functioning border control for the integrity of the Schengen- ideal of free movement across internal frontiers. This freedom however brings with it a shared responsibility regarding both border management and the fair repartition of refugees. We therefore support further centralisation of these services as suggested by the proposal.

Throughout the ‘migration crisis’, refugees have been subject to human rights violations committed by national border agencies.
