Topic 1: On February 13, 2017 Kim Jong-nam was assassinated at Kuala Lumpur International airport. The North Korean leader’s half-brother was waiting to check in for a flight, when two women approached him. They rubbed the face of their victim with hands doused with toxic liquid. Just minutes later Kim Jong-nam died on the way to a nearby hospital. Later investigations of Malaysian officials identified the nerve agent VX. The tasteless and odorless chemical is illegal in Malaysia and also regarded to be a chemical weapon. Ever since the Chemical Weapons Convention of 1993 it is categorized as a weapon of mass destruction, and has hence been banned due to the threat caused by it.
