Position Paper for the African Union

  1. Reducing violence in Central Africa between military and paramilitary groups and the recruitment of child soldiers

The conflicts between several rebel groups and governments in Central Africa caused a civil war that have spread across the whole continent. The consequences are shocking and innocent people, especially children, suffer from it. Therefore the country Lesotho strongly calls for measures to be taken to stop the civil war in Central Africa to prevent further damage of any kind. The crisis that started in the Central African Republic has spun out of control and deteriorated to a series of attacks causing thousands of deaths and thousands of homeless people. Besides, child exploitation, the violation of human rights and religious fanaticism is inacceptable and has no place in the present.
