Being a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) since its fifth enlargement, the Slovak Republic is an important part of the regional organization between European and Northern American alliances. According to the Slovak minister Lajcák: “NATO is a fundamental pillar of Slovakia’s security and of our living space in Europe.
