Greece’s foreign and security policy is devoted to international political multilateralism, preservation of peace and security and to the respect of International laws and treaties. For this reason, membership to NATO is a fundamental pillar of Greece’s defense and security architecture together with its EU membership.
Since its accession in 1952, Greece has actively contributed to Euro-Atlantic security and at the same time has been protected by the security umbrella the Alliance offers its members.
