A striking occurrence of recent global change is the appearance of new development actors with innovative capacity of development financing. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank focusing on infrastructure needs in Asia. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland ascertains that the investment of the AIIB will contribute to the economic growth and benefit the living standards in Asia which will be an enrichment for the global economy. The membership of the UK will build further links between the fast growing Asian economies and the UK, also creating opportunities for Asian as well as British peoples and companies.

Topic A: Future Cooperation with the World Bank

The AIIB is increasingly influencing the path of global development. Furthermore, the AIIB is differently structured than already existing development banks such as the World Bank and The Asian Development Bank.
