The latest development in Eastern Europe raises concerns. In March 2014, the Russian Federation illegally occupied the Ukrainian peninsula Crimea. As a reaction, many countries put on sanctions on the Russian Federation. The Czech Republic has participated in the sanctions to appear as a united Europe and to make the sanctions effective.

The aggressions of Russia are alarming and force to act. The Czech Republic urges to intensify the diplomatic negotiations and to focus on reducing the pressure on Russia. The goal is to end the sanctions as they are not only harming the Russian economy but also the economies of the countries imposing the sanctions.
