Position Paper for the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) The topics before the United Nations Environmental Program are: (I) Accelerating the Fight Against Desertification in the Global Decade Against Deterioration and (II) Global Action to Prevent Marine Litter Produced by Humans. The Republic of Chile firmly believes in multilateral cooperation to effectively combat desertification and the pollution of oceans and is committed to taking a leading role in effectively reducing environmental change in both areas for a fair, clean and sustainable development.
