Topic A: Islamophobia The horrific events that occurred on the eleventh of September in 2001 has had many repercussions in the United States, one of which, as liberal democrats claim, is the creation of an environment that breeds distrust and hostility towards Muslims. This has sparked open debate between liberal democrats who believe that there is currently a climate which does indeed breed distrust and hostility towards Muslims, and conservative republicans who disagree and believe that distrust towards Muslims to a certain extent is warranted. There were approximately 3.3 million Muslims of all ages living in the United States in 2015 roughly 1 per cent of the total United States population, many of which claim to suffer socioeconomic injustice as well as discrimination based on religion. On the other hand, many take this to be untrue or believe that the distrust is warranted. Republican presidential candidate frontrunner Donald J.
