In 1979 China had implemented a one-child policy. This policy was aimed to reduce the population rate but greatly affected the rights and abilities for women. Along with Thailand and Iran, the Indian states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the one child policy was a very popular procedure. In a 2008 survey 76 % of China’s people agreed to the implementation of this policy. On October 29, 2015, the law was changed.

In December 2015 the first domestic violence law was passed. This includes psychological abuse. Although great achievements have been made there is still a big issue on marital rape, which isn’t illegal yet. Strangely enough Same-sex sexual assault between males was made illegal in late 2015.
