As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, the French Republic has been conferred the duty and the responsibility to ensure fundamental human rights around the world and to maintain global peace and security.  Unfortunately, the Security Council and its members seem today inapt to honor their responsibility. Desperate situations are spread around the world, running from the Syrian chaos to the war-torn country of South-Sudan. Human rights are constantly flouted in many countries such as Eritrea or North-Korea. Long, terrible and devastating conflicts such as the civil war in Congo or the Israeli-Palestinian war remain unsolved.
