Topic A: Preventing proliferation of Nuclear Weapons

As a founding member of the United Nations, the Republic of India has always been in favour of a unilateral global disarmament in terms of nuclear weapons. Such weapons represent a great danger to the UN’s mission of promoting a peaceful and modern world, threatening the life of millions of human beings, the environment and important resources for the generations to come. It is a priority that through international cooperation the United Nations reach an agreement that will allow real measures to be put in place in terms of deactivating and destroying stockpiles of nuclear technology for military use.
