Zika virus was first identified in 1947 in rhesus mokeys in the zika forest of uganda and it was identified in humans in 1952 in Uganda and the united republic of Tanzania. in 2007, at least 14 cases of Zika has been documented worldwide. Before 2015, Zika outbreaks occurred in Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific Islands. Zika virus is transmitted to people primarily through the bite of an infected Aedes species mosquito (Ae. aegypti and Ae. albopictus). These are the same mosquitoes that spread dengue and chikungunya viruses. The most common symptoms of zika virus are fever,rash,join and muscle pain, red eyes, and headache. The incubation period for zika virus of only 5-10 days.
