Background

In today’s globalized world where everything are interconnected characterized by profound mobility, global health is something that is very important, because the health of people everywhere must be a growing concern for all of us, because neither diseases respect boundaries nor jurisdiction. The case of Zika virus which firstly identified in Africa in 1952 but now has been infected thousands of people not only in Africa per se but Asia, US, Europe and any other places in the world, proving that the health of each of us is highly interdependence with the health of others. Furthermore, In February 1st the World Health Organization (WHO) had declared the Zika Virus outbreak to be a Public Health Emergency of International Concern . Even if, Zika virus infection is not known to be directly associated with fatalities, however the effect of this virus towards fetus and possibility of overlaying medical conditions (complication) are things that concern us the most . Neurological abnormalities such as: myelitis (inflammation of the spinal cord) or brain abnormalities like microcephaly and Guillain-Barré syndrome that can lead to death. With that being said, the causalities of zika virus are the biggest concern of The Federal Republic of Germany as we believe those factors will create a destabilizing effect not only for us The Federal Republic of Germany but also other countries. Thus we believe it is very urgent for us to find a solution that is not only can tackle the spreading of zika virus in present time but also for years to come (sustainable solution(s))as well as assesing its economic and social consequences and create an effective preemptive action to stop the person to person transmission.

Past Actions- Zika strategic response framework

In managing this issue WHO has created a set of code of conduct in response to the spread of zika virus globally which is “Zika strategic response framework” in order to create the same level of preparedness by creating same requirement in order to act upon this issue...
