In 2014, IPCC stated that climate-related hazards exacerbate other stressors, often with negative outcomes for livelihoods. This growing problem has impacted the least developed countries the most. The overreliance of these countries to climate-sensitive resources such as agriculture, fisheries, tourism and forestry industries has made these countries vulnerable to the socio-economic impact of climate change. The Republic of Kenya understands that the social-economic impact of climate change on vulnerable nations occurred because of the low adaptive capability of its citizen. Hence, Kenya perceives the introduction of adaptation incentive that mitigates the cause of climate change is the best solution to this issue. Nevertheless, such an incentive would not be realized by solely relying on individual effort, therefore, member’s compliance with the agreement made and different financing options from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and Global Environment Facility (GEF) to finance a climate-related project in developing countries is essential.
