As the threat of terror and Islamic extremism looms over the West, an invisible killer works its way through Europe, impacting the lives of millions. The issue of drug trafficking is one that is rarely addressed but of the utmost imminence to the security of the European Union. A society’s worth is measured by the wellbeing of its most disadvantaged citizens, and the presence of people living on the fringes of society, crippled by substance addiction, indicates a much darker and unspoken side of contemporary European society.
