Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation and Training (Europol)
The Republic of Hungary recognizes the importance of international cooperation on protecting its citizens while maintaining an appropriate level of data protection, but our government wonders for what Europol is to become in the future. Regarding data protection, our constitution, but more specifically our Privacy Act (2011), ensures that data is protected to a high extent. Moreover, our government has several bilateral treaties with non EEA countries ensuring a level of data protection that we deem sufficient. Notable for this protection is that it shall only be conducted by our national authority as stated in our national legislation.
