The Federal Republic of Germany The council of the European Union presented by Kelly Epitzoglou Directive of the European Parliament and of the council on the prevention of the use of the financial system for the purpose of money laundering and terrorist financing.

The Federal Republic of Germany believes in an ambitious effort towards the prevention of financial crime in the EU. With the recent terrorist events happening on our grounds, extensive action should be taken in order to stop any financing of terrorist activities and money laundering. Germany has repeatedly raised the commission’s attention towards such issues and called for stricter regulations in the European level. Therefore we support this proposal.
