In this Position Paper a brief and concise description is given of Croatia’s position and priorities for the following topics : - Proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the The Council on the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation and Training (Europol) and repealing Decisions 2009/371/JHA and 2005/681/JHA. - Proposal for a directive of the European Parliament and The Council on the prevention of the use of the financial system for the purpose of money laundering and terrorist financing.

At the outset of my contribution, since I am taking the floor tor the first time, I would like to join my voice in congratulating the host of our Conference, Brussels MEU2016, for the excellent as well as my sincere thanks for the hospitaltity. On behalf of the Croatian Government, I would also like to express our satisfaction with the choice of topic of the Conference. The Republic of Croatia is a fully-fledged EU-member and Europol-member assuming all of the rights and obligations. Croatia has signed and ratified in the field of criminal law the following relevant Council of Europe’s Conventions: - European Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism - European Convention on Extradition - European Convention on the Transfer of Proceedings in Criminal Matters - Council of Europe Convention on Laundering, Search, Seizure and Confiscation of the Proceeds from Crime and on the Financing of Terrorism - Criminal Law Convention on Corruption - Convention on Laundering, Search, Seizure and Confiscation of the Proceeds of Crime - European Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism From a p...
