Nigeria, located in Western Africa, a developing country, dubbed as one of the ‘Next Eleven’ that will become one of the largest economies of the 21st century, coupled with a rapidly expanding economy with a 4% GDP growth and also the 24th largest economy in the world. In recent years, it has relatively good pandemic control on the Ebola virus and is fighting the Boko Haram active in northeast Nigerian territory.


The delegate of Nigeria would like to express worry on the rise of Islamophobia, exacerbated by world events like the 11 September attacks and the 2015 Paris attacks. The unstable situation in the Middle East by the Islamic State has also brought much negative press limelight to Islam faith. Also, the kidnapping of 300 schoolgirls by the Boko Haram in Nigeria has also caught attention of the international presses.
