Topic A Islamophobia Islamophobia refers to fear of the religion Islam and its followers, the Muslims, in mainly America and European countries. It became prominent after the 911 attack by Al-Qaeda in 2001 and has escalated due to frequent terrorist activities related to Muslims in the recent years. The cruel, barbaric and uncivilised actions by the ISIS has led to misunderstanding of Islam around the world. Fear and distrust arose towards the Muslims in countries like the United States. Many Muslims in western countries now face employment discrimination, unequal educational opportunities, and even life threats in some extreme cases.
