The situation in the Republic of Burundi foretells the same atrocity that overtook its northern neighbor Rwanada. For that reason, we must take every matter possible to prevent such atrocities from happening again. Ethnic tensions between the Hutus and Tutsis have peaked since the failed attempted coup of President Nkurunziza, who has reportedly retaliated using harsh and inhumane measures against the alleged conspirators.
