Since the dawn of the Industrial Revolution , International Labor Standards ( ILS ) are being a prominent concept in the international field. Their effect , though , became more powerful under the International Labor Organization ( ILO ). Those standards aim at providing a better legal framework for the protection of employees worldwide , while ensuring the continuation of economic growth. Their implementation , however , is restricted by two main factors : the different needs and economic states of the countries and the high stake of the reduction of the economic performance of companies. Notable is also the existence of problems that occur along the effort to ensure social justice , with some of the most important ones being forced labor and child labor.
