The quality of water in El Salvador is a very important issue the country has been facing over the last few decades. Waterborne diseases, especially those which have a huge impact on the health of the El Salvador citizens as well as tourists that visit the country, can lead to severe consequences for the individual and the country itself. Due to low government control of the industrial sectors, the water quality of the country is at an extremely low standard for about 100 per cent of the sources.
