Topic A: Trade The Commonwealth of Australia is an independent country composed of the Island of Tasmania, Mainland Australia and a collection of smaller islands. Australia has a population of 25 million people. It highly encourages and supports improvement towards political rights, economic freedom, civil liberties, health, education and the quality of life, thereby it is a member of several global organisations such as the United Nations, the World Trade Organization (WTO), G20 and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). It is the sixth-largest country in the world by total area, the tenth highest per capita income and it has the thirteenth largest economy. Australia is committed to it strong relationship with ASEAN in bringing together the peoples of Australia & South East Asia.
