Topic A: International Labor Standards
According to the International Labor Organization (ILO) 168 million children face child labor, 21 million people are victims of forced labor and hundreds of millions suffer from discrimination at their workplace. International Labor Standards (ILS) were born from the need to protect workers from unfair treatments such as the aforementioned but still, ILS enforcement represent an unresolved issue for most countries. Australia´s initiatives regarding ILS have focused on fostering workforce participation of minorities such as people with disabilities and aboriginals.
