THEME A - “CRIMINAL ACCOUNTABILITY OF THE UN OFFICIALS AND EXPERTS ON MISSIONS”

As a state we are very proud of our personal contributions to the South Sudan Mission, our largest contribution to a UN Peacekeeping mission to date. In May 2017 the Mongolian UN Peacekeeping force was awarded over 850 medals for their amazing dedication and hard work and high standards in South Sudan, but while UN peacekeepers from other member states are being accused of serious crime, being investigated and recalled it damages the effectiveness of UN peacekeepers as a whole and the reputation of states that have been able to maintain high standards.
