I. Defending the Defenders: The Rights of Human Rights Activists

As a signer of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948, the Republic of Cuba considers human rights as the patrimony of the society as a whole. The country has maintained a strict commitment to the implementation of a more just and equal human rights system. This led to the presentation of resolutions aimed at defending basic human rights and to the Cuban cooperation with all human rights mechanisms applied on universal and non-discriminatory basis.
