Topic: Measures to combat vector-borne diseases in South-East Asia

 The delegate of the Republic of Korea recognizes that vector borne diseases should be seen as a serious issue in the World health organization committee. Since vector borne diseases cause a significant fraction of the global diseases burden, taking into account for 17% of all infectious diseases causing more than 700,000 deaths annually it most be recognised as a serious matter. The Republic of Korea has been affected previously by vector borne diseases, thus again reflecting the importance of this issue.
