The topic presented is the “changing population demographics and sustainable development” which affects the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The theme of the changing population demographics plays a central role in the international dynamics, being linked with the different aspects of a State’s policy, such as economic, social and environmental issues. There are two main trends of this change: on the one hand, continents like Asia and Africa will witness massive rise of their population in the next few years, while on the other Europe and North America will be forced to deal with the opposite problem. All these trends are characterized by higher or lower levels of birth and mortality rates, different ratio of urbanization and disparate levels of aging population.
