Agenda: The responsibility to protect and the Prevention of Genocide, War Crimes, Ethnic Cleansing and Crimes Against Humanity.

 Crimes against humanity have plagued the human race since the dawn of civilization. Genocide, persecution of minorities and other forms of violence and oppression against innocent people have had disastrous consequences on the world. Indigenous societies and people carry with them rich culture, heritage and traditions, the loss of which impoverishes us as a race, robbing us of the opportunity of learning from them.

 In this regard, I confess that Australia has had a dubious past when it comes to the persecution and cleansing of ethnic minorities. Australia has been a home for the aboriginal people, our original community for at least 60,000 years and their civilization is considered as one of the oldest in the world.
