One of the UNODC’s main goals is crime prevention and criminal justice, which all member states strive to achieve. Violence prevention in youth and combatting drug trafficking are classified among these objectives - among other suggestions, helping the youth living in “slums or shanty towns with high population density, poor infrastructure, high levels of unemployment, and precarious or nonexistent social services and public spaces”.
