Cooperation for Progress - with this theme, the 2019-edition of the annual Kleve Model African Union, the KleMAU will take place in May. Just like an MUN, the MAU is the simulation of an official conference where the participants choose a country or organisation to represent for four days of discussion and negotiations. But unlike an MUN, the Model African Union will focus on the problems, challenges and opportunities of the most rapid growing and often underrepresented continent and its African Union.
To participate, you do not need any prior MAU or MUN experience, so whether you are a MAU-fresher or MAU-legend, you can feel free to debate in one of our three committees.
Besides the conference itself, there are going to be some great social events, like an evening in a bar to get to know each other or our delegate's party. Additionally, we have invited Shuvai Nyoni, director of the African Leadership Centre in Nairobi and advocatory specialist at the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation. She will give an interactive workshop and guest lecture during the conference.
In conclusion, KleMAU 2019 will be a great opportunity to meet new people, sharpen your debating and rhetorical skills and - of course - to have lots of fun!
