Welcome to Ghent Model United Nations
GhentMUN is the MUN conference of Ghent, in cooperation with Ghent University (UGent), Erasmus Student Network (ESN) and the United Nations Youth Association of Ghent (UNYA Gent). We offer committees for beginners to expert level participants.
Chair applications are now closed
The team of chairs, as well as the topics of each committee, have been selected. We have gathered a team of experts in each field, therefore ensuring that the best candidates have been allocated to each committee. You can check who the chairs are here in this page.
Dates of our conference
The conference will take place on the 26th, 27th and 28th of March. We’ll be using the conference app called “Zoom” to host the conference during the pandemic. For this reason we advise you to download and/or update your the Zoom application. We don’t recommend you using the web application, since we’ll be utilizing the functionalities Zoom has to offer.
Delegate applications are still open
Delegate applications are possible from February 1st until March 22nd. Applications after March 22nd will not be taken into consideration. The result of the selection will be communicated to successful candidates. As participants, you are offered multiple choices on which country and committee you would like to represent. However, we cannot ensure that you will be chosen to represent such country, as this will depend on the assigning criteria of the Secretariat. We will base our assignment criteria on the previous delegate’s experience, motivation letter and expected outcome of the MUN.
How to apply?
Delegates are expected to apply using the official google forms provided in the payments tab of our website. You can also find it here. We recommend and expect you to fill out this form seriously, since your country and committee allocation will be based off of your registration. After registering you will receive an automated e-mail where you’ll receive further details regarding your payment and registration.
How to pay?
The registration fee amounts to €20,00. The payment can be made in one of two ways. You can either pay using PayPal, or you’ll be able to manually transfer the money to the banking details provided in the automated e-mail sent to you after your registration.
