The 10th anniversary edition of the BISMUN Conference is going to take place from the 21st to the 26th of March 2018 in Bucharest and it will bring together over 300 participants from Europe, as well as from numerous countries all over the world.
The general theme of Bucharest Student Model United Nations will emphasize the importance of Agenda 2030, which was adopted in 2015, during the 70th session of the UN General Assembly. The committee works are going to be focused on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, bearing in mind the impact they have on the activity of the United Nations.
BISMUN is part of Romania's campaign for the UN Security Council, driven by its official motto - "A Long-Term Commitment to Peace, Justice and Development". The conference is going to promote Romania's efforts to become a non-permanent member of the UNSC for the 2020-2021 period by integrating in its activities the three aforementioned pillars - Peace, Justice and Development. Moreover, the participants are going to take part in the Security Council elections process during the project, culminating with the voting procedure in the BISMUN General Assembly.
