Power. Policy. Debate.
Nexus MUN: Power. Policy. Debate.
Nexus MUN is a premier simulation designed to challenge the brightest minds in diplomacy, strategy, and international law. We move beyond the basics of parliamentary procedure to focus on the raw intersection of institutional power and ground-level policy impact. Whether you are navigating the intricate legalities of the CCPCJ or managing a high-stakes breakdown in the Crisis cell, Nexus provides a platform for rigorous intellectual exchange and decisive leadership.
Committees & Agendas
1. Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ)
Description: As the principal policymaking body of the United Nations in the field of crime prevention, the CCPCJ addresses the evolving nature of global instability. This committee focuses on strengthening international systems to combat organized crime and ensuring that justice systems are resilient enough to handle modern threats.
- Agenda: Addressing the Rise of Transnational Cyber-Extortion and the Regulation of Dark-Web Financial Flows.
2. United Nations Security Council (UNSC)
Description: The powerhouse of the UN, the UNSC is charged with the maintenance of international peace and security. Delegates here must balance the sovereign interests of their nations with the collective need for global stability, often under the shadow of the Veto power.
- Agenda: Evaluating the Security Implications of Militarized Artificial Intelligence in Non-State Actor Conflicts.
3. United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW)
Description: The UNCSW is the exclusive global body dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. In this session, the focus shifts to the economic and structural barriers that prevent equitable participation in the global workforce and political spheres.
- Agenda: Strengthening Legal Protections for Women in Conflict-Affected Economic Zones.
4. United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)
Description: Tasked with the promotion and protection of all human rights around the globe, the UNHRC serves as the world’s conscience. Delegates will engage in intense debates regarding state accountability and the universal application of rights in an increasingly fragmented world.
- Agenda: Protecting the Right to Privacy and Freedom of Expression in the Age of State-Sourced Digital Surveillance. [Focusing on developed countries]
5. Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)
Description: ECOSOC lies at the center of the UN system’s work on the three pillars of sustainable development: economic, social, and environmental. It is the forum where global "Blueprints" are created to ensure long-term stability and resource equity.
- Agenda: Developing a Framework for Debt Sustainability and Economic Recovery in Post-Pandemic Emerging Markets.
6. Continuous Crisis Committee (CCC)
Description: The Crisis committee is for those who think fast under pressure. Unlike traditional committees, the CCC is a "living" simulation where directives move the timeline in real-time. Expect the unexpected, from intelligence leaks to sudden diplomatic collapses.
- Agenda: Classified (To be revealed via midnight briefings).
